Installation Instructions - Make sure there isn't anything from previous Oblivion installs. It absolutely requires all of these things or it will not run. The POEE will not work unless you have Oblivion, Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine (including the DLC that comes with it) and Fighter's Stronghold which must be obtained separately from KOTN. I hope to come to some sort of amicable agreement someday, and things like constant barrages of questions might queer any chances I have.
The POEE was made as an act of love for the game and for my friends, whom I wanted to be able to enjoy the game just as I have.ĭo not bug any of the original mod creators about POEE as most are quite hostile towards it.
Even people that could make many mods work together would not have put together an edition of this scope. Even though many modders do not agree with what I do, I know that many people have had to pass on modding Oblivion just because of the time and effort involved. The modders deserve every ounce of credit for their hard work. The mods themselves although not created by me, have been made to work together with this enhanced edition so a big thanks to all the modification creators. I have spent countless hours working on the flow, pace and balance of the game.
This is an Oblivion version with a set of painstakingly selected modifications, tweaks and changes to provide the most interesting and fun Oblivion experience possible. In other words it actually PREVENTS crashes from mods referencing deleted data.ģ) Crashes and other issues "may" be caused by mods or mod conflicts, and yes, to many "script heavy" mods can be a disaster, but with the advent of both FO4Edit and LOOT, problems with badly made mods are now far less frequent.Hey,look what I found in 2 seconds with my super internets powers(Google). It does two main things only - It removes "identical to master" records (i.e if the exact same record is also in the main fallout4.esm, then it's pointless for the game to load the same data twice, and in fact may even cause issues) and secondly it "un-deletes" any deleted records that it can and simply "hides" them from view. You also need only open the CK for either game to know how many issues the games have.Ģ) "Cleaning" DLC's with FO4Edit does NO SUCH THING!
And even Bethesda happily host the Unofficial Patches for those games, because why would they bother wasting time and money fixing the game themselves, when someone else will do it for them. (The whole reason for the "pre-combined" mesh system was to try and combat the woefully outdated game engine) Anyone claiming Skyrim or FO4 are "rock solid" is outright lying. Yes, a lot of scripted mods can kill your game.ġ) Even Bugthesda knows their game is a buggy nightmare with random crashes, bad optimisation and sometimes unplayable content. Adding 5 mods that cause a lot of stress to papyrus will also make your game very unstable and can cause freezes or crashes.
It also depends on what the mods you installed do. The more you fiddle with files, the more issues may arise.Ĭrashes and other issues are always connected to mods that are not well created and bloat your game or incompatibility issues with other mods. You won't gain any performance or something else from cleaning, only a weak spot that may crash your game at some point. The only crashes I had in Skyrim SE were due to a skeleton mod, but with you can find those crashes.īut if you clean DLCs and people use those refs in their mod, your game will crash. I've never cleaned any DLCs and I'm playing Skyrim SE + Fallout 4 without any crashes, they work are rock solid. I'm not a modder myself, but when folks like Arthmoor (co-developer of LOOT and the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch) says it's better to clean the lot and that there's no consequences when doing so, then I have a tendency to believe the guy, as opposed to people coming along and just saying "bad idea" without further explanation. On the contrary, I used to have quite a lot of crashes and none since I did the cleaning.
Regardless of the nay-sayers, I've cleaned DLC files according to the small tutorial I found here on Nexus.
